After much anticipation our sweet baby BOY has arrived: Drake Mark Penberthy. He weighed 7lbs. 4 oz. and is 20.5 inches long. As you can see from the pictures he has a full head of dark hair. I think he looks like Joey with my skin and hair coloring. We are loving watching the bond that he and big brother Drew are already forming. When Drew comes to see 'dake' he says, "I pet em" and "I hode (hold) em."
To give you an update on my health so that you can keep praying, they found a blood clot in my left leg (DVT) which has caused swelling and pain up and down my leg. The clot goes from the middle of my thigh to the top of my hip. I am still in the hospital and only allowed to get out of bed to go to the bathroom.
Please pray that Joey and I would have wisdom to know what the best form of treatment is. Through the birth of Drake and the clot in my leg we have had the joy of experincing first hand God's providential care and protection over Drake and me. It has been a comfort to reflect on how the creator of the world is my great physician, and He is faithful to not let anything happen that is outside of his control, even my health.
I wish I could talk to each one of you, but between taking care of Drake, doctor and nurse visits, and occasional sleep, I have not been able to answer my phone and return your calls. Thanks for your encouragement, it is a highlight of mine to hear your voice on my voice mail! We love you all!

Thank you so much for posting pictures Erin! HE IS GORGEOUS! I absolutely melted when I saw the picture of Drew holding him! Drew's face is so precious in that one! We are praying like crazy for you and can't wait to see you. I praise God that He is keeping you in "perfect peace." Just like He promises to do, if our minds and hearts are set on HIm. We love you all so much and we're anxious to hear about your possible surgery...we're praying for wisdom for you and Joey. Love you, love you, love you!
Oh Erin, (and Joey too ;) He is beautiful! I got all teary looking at the pictures of him and Drew. Seriously so sweet. I'm praying for you Erin, for God's healing hand in your body right now, and for you be able to get home soon to those sweet boys. I think you are so wise to be trying to rest, just know your friends all around are thinking of, and praying for you. I love you my friend. Take care.

Erin, I realized through all of this even more how much I love you and want the best for you!!! I love your perspective through this. God is our GREAT physician. I am so glad I can rest knowing HE knows all of your days ahead. The pics really made me happy and I my hope for you and Joey is to have peace with the big decisions you are about to make. I think about you all the time but I am not worried because I have Faith for you.

Congratulations Joey and Erin! Drake is adorable! You are going to LOVE having two sons. I have enjoyed these past 8 1/2 months tremendously as I've watched my two boys bond and become the best of friends. We will be praying for you...for wisdom and strength and healing.
