Thanksgiving in Palm Springs

We had such a great time celebrating my mom's 60th birthday in Palm Springs over Thanksgiving week. We were bummed to be missing Cristi and her family and Kelly, due to Cristi being on bedrest and Kelly not feeling well enough to come. Aunt Vicki, Uncle Randy and Charlie joined us, mom, and Brian for such a great time. It was beautiful, so green and so sunny, it was perfect timing. Here in Indiana it was snowing when we left (: My mom, Joey and Brian golfed in the morning and Drew, Drake and I hung out in the pool or just played outside. I couldn't get over how green it was, it was beautiful.

We all joined together to present my mom with a really special gift for her 60th. We made a scrapbook for her from all her family and friends, full of pictures, letters and memories. We surprised her with it and Kelly and Cristi didn't want to miss out so we got them both on the phone so they could hear her reaction....then they started talking to eachother so Brian put the phones next to eachother. It was pretty funny. My mom loved her book, her and my Aunt Vicki cried and laughed for hours looking at it. I haven't seen my mom cry that much in years...what a blessing to have that many happy and grateful tears. Thank you all who joined in to make her book so special and beautiful...she LOVED it!

I told Drew to give Grammy an "Eskimo kiss" just to see what he would do. He leaned over without hesitation and sucked on her nose! It was hilarious...the best part was he thought nothing of it and did it every time we asked him to. We had to hold back out giggles with great restraint! I think the cute things kids do is one of the greatest joys we experience on earth.
